PAN number
GSTIN (Goods and Services Tax Identification Number) is a unique 15-digit alphanumeric code issue to every registered taxpayer under the GST regime. The first two digits of the GSTIN represent the state code, followed by the next 10 digits representing the PAN number of the taxpayer, then a 2-digit entity code for the same in the same state and finally, the last digit is a check code.

While PAN is a unique identification number issue by the Income Tax Department to track the financial transactions of an individual or entity. GSTIN is a separate identification number issue by the GST department to track the GST transactions of the registered taxpayers. This use to verify the identity and address of the applicant during the GST registration process, it is a part of the GSTIN.
