Income tax return verification
An Income tax return verification can be verified in multiple ways, including:
1. E-verification: Taxpayers can e-verify their return using methods such as net banking, Aadhaar OTP, bank account-based validation, or demat account-based validation.
2. Physical verification: Taxpayers can physically verify their returns by sending a signed copy of the ITR-V (Income Tax Return – Verification) form to the Centralized Processing Centre (CPC) in Bangalore within 120 days of filing the return.

3. Electronic verification code (EVC): Taxpayers can generate an EVC using their registered mobile number or email ID and use it to e-verify their returns.
4. Digital signature: Taxpayers can sign their returns digitally using a digital signature certificate (DSC).
5. Bank account-based validation: Taxpayers can link their bank account with their PAN and use the pre-validated bank account to e-verify their returns. All above are methods in that an income tax return be verified.
